Project 2: Group Site Map

Following our site visit we brought into class sketches and photos relevant to both the spaces we had seen. In groups we created a site map using these materials.

It was helpful to work in a group for this as we were able to bounce ideas off each other and better understand what the task was. We were a bit slow to start and to figure out what we wanted our focus to be on but once we decided on a path the rest of the ideas quickly fell into place.

We wanted to create something 3D so we could play around with layers and cropping. Our final map explored how the area of Albert Park has changed over time. In the lower right side we have older images. These are around the time the city was expanding and when the park had different uses (air raid shelters underneath). The upper left side is more modern and moving into how it could be in the future. We used string over top to resemble the journey that everything goes through in life.
