Project 3 : 1:20 Model

It took a little while for me to decide on my platforms and what they would be. Once I decided on who my two strangers would be (exes) and the dramatic and performance like aspect I wanted to include I found my ideas flowed freely and the space was easy to create.

I modelled my 1:20 and 1:50 at the same time, adjusting measurements where needed and constantly checking back to make sure everything worked to a realistic scale.

Visible from the entrance is the kitchen space then living space. Around the corner of the room and at the highest level is the bed and then the bathroom. The kitchen platform is 800mm off the floor with no steps or ramp. This means they can do a big step or push themselves up. I wanted to make the way they move around the space awkward and reflective of the situation so they really have to think about the way they move. The living space is another 500mm from the kitchen platform meaning its another easier step from platform to platform or if they’re feeling brave they could heave themselves up from the ground. The other platforms both have ladders as they are above a climbable height.
